Overview
DoT support specialist who detonates damage-over-time effects via Skill, Ultimate, and follow-up attacks. Grants 100% ATK to allies with 75%+ EHR. SP-intensive and heavily speed-dependent for maximum detonation frequency.
DoT support specialist who detonates all active damage-over-time effects on enemies via Skill, Ultimate, and Talent follow-up attacks. Skill detonates DoTs on the main target at 75% and adjacent targets at 50% of original DMG. Ultimate detonates all DoTs on all enemies at 120% of original DMG and applies Shock. Talent triggers follow-up attacks when allies attack, detonating DoTs at 80% of original DMG. At 75%+ Effect Hit Rate, grants 100% ATK to self and eligible allies via A2 trace.
Key Mechanics
- Three detonation sources: Skill (75%/50% Blast), Ultimate (120% AoE), and Talent FuA (80% single-target via A6). Higher SPD means more turns, which means more detonations — SPD is the most valuable stat after 75% EHR.
- DoT detonation damage scales with the original DoT's damage, not Kafka's own stats. Kafka's role is to trigger as many detonations as possible, making partner DoT strength (Black Swan Arcana, Hysilens Zone DoTs) the primary damage source.
- A2 trace provides 100% ATK to all allies with 75%+ EHR — a massive team-wide buff that makes EHR the single most important stat to cap. Below 75%, Kafka loses her primary support contribution.
- Eagle of Twilight Line 4pc grants 25% action advance after Ultimate, creating a cycle: Ultimate → advance → Skill → Talent FuA charges refill → repeat. Energy Regen Rope sustains this loop.
- Shock from Ultimate, Talent, and Technique are identical (290% ATK Lightning DoT, 2 turns). Kafka applies Shock from multiple sources ensuring persistent uptime for detonation and Prisoner set DEF ignore.
Best Kafka Teams
Triple DoT
Peak DoT performance — Kafka paired with both Hysilens and Black Swan. All three DPS characters scale each other: Kafka detonates DoTs constantly, Hysilens applies all four DoT types through her Zone, and Black Swan stacks Arcana from both sources while buffing the entire team with 72% DMG. Kafka's detonations simultaneously stack Arcana and activate Hysilens Zone on all enemies, creating compounding damage that no other team structure can match.
- S-tier: Kafka, Hysilens, Black Swan, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae
- A-tier: Kafka, Hysilens, Black Swan, Huohuo
Dual DoT
Kafka paired with one DoT DPS partner and an amplifier. Used when Black Swan or Hysilens is unavailable or assigned to the other team. Cyrene and Tribbie are the premium amplifiers — Cyrene provides a second detonation source alongside Kafka while Tribbie offers RES PEN and AoE follow-ups. The amplifier compensates for the missing third DPS with multiplicative buffs.
Best Kafka Teammates
DPS Partners: Hysilens (S), Black Swan (S)
Amplifiers: Cyrene (S), Tribbie (S), Cipher (A), Robin (A), Ruan Mei (A), Mortenax Blade (B), Jiaoqiu (B), Pela (C)
Sustains: Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae (S), Huohuo (A), Gallagher (A), Hyacine (A), Aventurine (B), Lingsha (B)
Kafka Investment Priority
- E1 — Highest-priority stop. Applies 30% DoT Vulnerability on every attack (not just FuA), turning Kafka into a permanent team-wide multiplicative amplifier. Transforms her role from trigger engine to damage amplifier.
- E2 — Second priority. Permanent 33% DoT DMG increase for all allies while Kafka is on field. Stacks with E1 Vulnerability for compounding team damage. Recommended stopping point before chasing signature.
- LC S1 — After E2 secures team amplification, Tutorial Mission Starts enables Ultimate spam via 8 Energy per attack, maximizing 120% detonation frequency and Eagle set action advances.
Kafka Relics and Stat Targets
Recommended: Eagle of Twilight Line with Lushaka, the Sunken Seas
Stat targets: Effect Hit Rate 75%+, SPD 160+, ATK 2500-3000+
Main stats: Body: Effect Hit Rate > ATK% · Feet: SPD · Sphere: Lightning DMG > ATK% · Rope: Energy Regen > ATK%
Best Kafka Light Cones
- Before the Tutorial Mission Starts (Best in Slot): Best overall option for DoT support Kafka. Provides 8 Energy per attack (including FuAs) when enemies have reduced DEF, enabling near-constant Ultimate cycling with high-action DoT partners. More Ultimates means more 120% detonations and Eagle set action advances. Also provides 20% EHR helping toward the 75% A2 threshold. Accessible from Herta Store without gacha.
- Lies Dance on the Breeze: Strong alternative prioritizing SPD and DEF reduction. 24% DEF ignore on all enemies is multiplicative team damage. Reaching 170 SPD unlocks a second DEF reduction layer (additional 12%) plus more frequent detonations. Best choice when prioritizing personal damage output over energy economy, but requires 170 SPD to fully exploit — adjust relic substats accordingly.
- Patience Is All You Need: Signature LC best for DPS-focused builds. Provides stacking SPD buff (up to 3 stacks enabling faster action cycling), DMG%, and Erode debuff which functions as additional Lightning DoT. Erode contributes an extra DoT for stacking Black Swan Arcana, Hysilens Zone triggers, and Prisoner DEF ignore. Decent for support role via SPD synergy but Tutorial provides superior energy economy.
- Those Many Springs: Amplification-focused alternative. 60% EHR allows running ATK% Body instead of EHR Body while comfortably exceeding the 75% A2 threshold. 24% DMG Taken debuff at 120%+ EHR is a team-wide multiplicative boost. Requires very high EHR investment (120%+) to consistently land the debuff, competing with SPD and ATK substats for attention.
Kafka FAQ

What is the best light cone for Kafka?
Before the Tutorial Mission Starts is the top listed light cone for Kafka. Best overall option for DoT support Kafka.
How should I invest in Kafka?
Kafka's first listed investment priority is E1. Highest-priority stop. Applies 30% DoT Vulnerability on every attack (not just FuA), turning Kafka into a permanent team-wide multiplicative amplifier. Transforms her role from trigger engine to damage amplifier.
Important Notes
- Requires 75% Effect Hit Rate to activate A2 Bonus Ability (100% ATK buff to self and eligible allies). Without this, team damage drops significantly.
- Extremely SP-negative — uses Skill nearly every turn. Pair with SP-positive supports (Tribbie, Cipher, Gallagher) or SP-neutral teammates to avoid SP starvation.
- Needs 160+ SPD for maximum detonation frequency. Eagle 4pc action advance on Ultimate multiplies the value of every additional SPD point. Prioritize SPD substats after reaching 75% EHR.
- Energy-hungry for support builds — Before the Tutorial Mission Starts or Energy Regen Rope is required to maintain frequent Ultimate usage, as 120% detonations are the strongest single contribution.
- DoT teams require ramp time — debuffs must be applied before detonations matter. Damage output compounds strongly from cycle 3 onward as DoT stacks mature. Weaker in extremely fast fights.
