Overview
DoT specialist who applies all four elemental DoT types and creates a Zone providing DEF shred, Vulnerability, and bonus damage whenever enemies take DoT damage. Designed around frequent DoT detonations from Kafka.
DoT-centric Nihility DPS who passively applies all four elemental DoT types (Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn, Shock) via Talent whenever allies attack. Ultimate deploys a Zone providing 25% DEF reduction, 15% ATK reduction, and 20% Vulnerability (from Skill), while dealing Physical DoT equal to 80% ATK per DoT instance enemies take (up to 8 triggers per turn/attack). Damage engine relies on accumulating DoTs then detonating them via Kafka for massive Zone triggers and A4 detonation at 150% efficiency.
Key Mechanics
- Kafka is functionally mandatory. Hysilens' Zone bonus damage (80% ATK x up to 8 triggers) only activates when enemies take DoT damage. Without Kafka's frequent detonations (Ultimate AoE, Talent follow-up, Skill blast), Zone triggers sit idle and damage drops by 50%+.
- Requires 120% Effect Hit Rate to maximize A6 passive (90% DMG increase). This is both a damage stat and a reliability stat — higher EHR also ensures DoT application from Talent lands consistently. EHR body main stat is standard.
- All four DoT types applied by Talent stack Black Swan's Arcana extremely rapidly, reaching max 50 stacks (160% damage amplification) — previously near-impossible in regular endgame content.
- DoT damage cannot CRIT. All scaling comes from ATK, EHR (via A6 conversion), and multiplicative debuffs (DEF shred, Vulnerability, RES PEN). CRIT stats are worthless.
- Boss phase changes cleanse all DoTs, forcing complete re-application. This is the archetype's main weakness — other team types only ramp once.
Best Hysilens Teams
Triple DoT Core
Maximum DoT synergy composition pairing Hysilens with both Kafka and Black Swan. Kafka's frequent detonations continuously trigger Hysilens' Zone bonus damage (80% ATK × 8 DoTs = 640% ATK per detonation). Black Swan's Arcana stacks to max (50 stacks, 160% damage amplification) rapidly from Hysilens' 4 DoT types. All three DoT characters scale each other — Hysilens provides DEF shred and Vulnerability for Kafka and Swan, Swan provides DEF shred for Hysilens and Kafka, Kafka detonates everything for massive damage. Highest damage ceiling but requires ramp-up time.

- A-tier: Hysilens, Kafka, Black Swan, Huohuo
DoT + Generic Amplifier
Flexible composition pairing the Hysilens + Kafka core with any strong amplifier (Robin, Ruan Mei, Cipher, Tribbie, Cyrene). Trades Black Swan's Arcana scaling for generic team buffs that amplify all damage. Robin front-loads ramp-up with Action Advance, Ruan Mei provides RES PEN and Break support, Cipher offers Vulnerability and stored burst, Tribbie gives RES PEN and follow-up damage. More adaptable than triple DoT — amplifier choice can match enemy lineup and blessing buffs.

Hysilens Investment Priority
- E1 — Doubles DoT application (8 total solo), adds unique 1.16x team DoT multiplier. Single largest damage increase available — consensus top priority.
- LC S1 — Signature adds 40% EHR (easily caps 120% requirement), applies 30% DoT DMG taken debuff for whole team, and grants all allies 10% SPD. Far ahead of alternatives in team value.
- E2 — Shares the 90% DMG bonus from A6 with all allies while Zone is active. Provides 5-15% full-team damage increase depending on composition.
Hysilens Relics and Stat Targets
Recommended: Prisoner in Deep Confinement with Revelry by the Sea
Stat targets: Effect Hit Rate 120%+, ATK 3600+, SPD 129+ with signature / 135+ without
Main stats: Body: Effect Hit Rate · Feet: SPD > ATK% · Sphere: Physical DMG · Rope: ATK%
Best Hysilens Light Cones
- Why Does the Ocean Sing (Best in Slot): Signature and best-in-slot. Provides 40% Effect Hit Rate (helping reach 120% requirement), applies up to 30% DoT damage taken debuff for the entire team, and increases all allies' SPD by 10% when they attack an enemy. The DoT damage taken amplifies both Hysilens' and Kafka's detonation damage significantly. SPD increase benefits fast Kafka rotations.
- Reforged Remembrance: Black Swan's signature. Hysilens applies all four DoT types, easily stacking up to 4 Prophet stacks for 48% ATK and 18% DEF Ignore. Large Effect Hit Rate stat helps reach 120%. Best personal damage option after signature, but doesn't provide team buffs like Why Does the Ocean Sing. Consider using on Hysilens if Black Swan is using another cone.
- Those Many Springs: Jiaoqiu's signature. Provides 60% Effect Hit Rate (easily caps 120% requirement) while amplifying team damage via up to 24% damage taken debuff. Good hybrid option providing both personal stats and team utility. Falls between signature and Reforged for personal damage but offers team-wide scaling.
- Patience Is All You Need: Kafka's signature. Provides an additional DoT (adds extra Ultimate trigger when maintained), DMG%, and stacking SPD%. Major downside: no Effect Hit Rate, making 120% very difficult to reach without dedicated EHR substats. Performance shown assumes careful DoT uptime management. Generally not recommended over EHR-bearing options unless substats cover the gap.
Hysilens FAQ
Who works best with Hysilens in HSR?

What is the best light cone for Hysilens?
Why Does the Ocean Sing is the top listed light cone for Hysilens. Signature and best-in-slot.

Important Notes
- Kafka is effectively mandatory — DoT team loses 50%+ damage without her frequent detonations triggering Zone bonus damage
- Requires meaningful ramp-up time (2-3 turns) to reach full DoT stacking and peak damage output
- Boss phase changes cleanse debuffs and DoTs, forcing complete re-application while other team archetypes only ramp once
- Needs 120% Effect Hit Rate to maximize A6 DMG boost (90% DMG increase) — requires dedicated EHR substats or EHR-bearing light cone
