Anaxa — Honkai Star Rail Character Guide
Wind Erudition DPS, Support DPS · MoC T0.5 · PF T1 · AS T0.5
Overview
Dual-role Erudition DPS who implants all 7 Weakness Types via Bounce Skill and Ultimate, enabling universal Toughness break and 28% DEF ignore at full stacks. Activates a 50% team DMG buff with a second Erudition ally, making him the premier partner for Erudition carries.
Wind Erudition DPS who implants all 7 Weakness Types onto enemies via Bounce Skill hits and AoE Ultimate, enabling universal Toughness Break for the entire team. Core loop: use Skill to bounce 5 hits across enemies (implanting one Weakness per hit via Talent), reach 5+ Weakness Types to trigger Qualitative Disclosure state, then receive a free bonus Skill on every attack against Disclosed targets. Generates 60 Energy per turn consistently regardless of Skill or Basic ATK usage, enabling 2-turn Ultimate cycles.
Key Mechanics
- Weakness Implant does NOT grant the natural elemental DMG bonus and does NOT reduce an enemy's inherent elemental RES — high-RES enemies still resist damage of implanted types. RES PEN from teammates is needed to compensate.
- Skill bounces prioritize unhit enemies first, making it efficient at spreading Weaknesses across all targets. Against a single target, all 5 hits land on it (350% ATK total) and rapidly implant 5 different Weakness Types.
- The free Talent Skill generates full Energy (30) and implants additional Weaknesses, effectively doubling Anaxa's output per turn when Qualitative Disclosure is active.
- Energy economy: 60 Energy per turn guaranteed (Skill 30 + free Talent Skill 30, or Basic ATK 30 from A2 + free Talent Skill 30). With 140-cost Ultimate, this means consistent 2-turn Ultimates with only 15-20 Energy needed from external sources or getting hit.
- A4 Trace creates a fundamental team-building choice: solo Erudition grants 140% personal CRIT DMG (hypercarry), while dual Erudition grants 50% team DMG buff (dual-DPS). E6 activates both simultaneously.
Best Teams for Anaxa
Chrysos Hypercarry
Anaxa as the sole DPS, activating the solo A4 Trace branch for 140% CRIT DMG. Chrysos Heir supports Cyrene and Cerydra enable 4 Skill instances in rapid succession: Cerydra duplicates each Skill without consuming SP, and Cyrene grants an action advance plus 3 additional Skill instances per interaction. This composition has the fastest single-target clear times in Memory of Chaos and excels when Anaxa can concentrate bounces on one high-priority target.

- A-tier: Anaxa, Cyrene, Cerydra, Hyacine

Erudition Dual DPS
Anaxa pairs with a second Erudition DPS to activate both characters' A4 Traces simultaneously, granting a permanent 50% team DMG buff to all allies. Anaxa's double Skill per turn (main Skill plus free Talent Skill) generates substantial energy for the Erudition partner via 8 total bounce hits, while his weakness implant ensures both DPS can attack universally regardless of enemy elemental weaknesses. This is his best team structure in Pure Fiction and competitive in all other modes.

- A-tier: Anaxa, The Herta, Robin, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae

Chrysos Sustainless
Maximum burst hypercarry sacrificing the sustain slot for a third amplifier. Cyrene, Cerydra, and Remembrance Trailblazer stack Chrysos Heir buffs, Skill duplication, action advance, and True DMG together for the highest possible burst ceiling. Viable for content that can be finished within one or two burst windows before incoming damage becomes dangerous.

Investment Priority
- LC S1 — Signature provides the 10 Energy/turn needed for consistent 2-turn Ultimates with ATK Rope, plus 80% DMG buff vs implanted targets and 12% DEF reduction benefiting the whole team. Most impactful single upgrade.
- E2 — Permanent 20% All-Type RES shred on all enemies is a team-wide damage multiplier. Also triggers one Talent weakness implant when enemies enter battle, solving wave-content ramp-up. Best stopping point for spenders.
- E1 — 16% DEF shred on Skill hit stacks with A6 DEF ignore and signature LC for substantial combined DEF penetration. On the way to E2, not a recommended solo stopping point.

Important Notes
- A4 Trace is an either/or: with 1 Erudition (solo), Anaxa gains 140% personal CRIT DMG; with 2+ Erudition, all allies gain 50% DMG. Only E6 grants both simultaneously.
- Without the signature LC, an Energy Rope is required for consistent 2-turn Ultimates in dual-DPS teams, costing roughly 15-20% personal damage versus ATK Rope.
- Weakness implant does not grant the natural elemental DMG bonus and does not reduce an enemy's inherent RES — high-RES enemies still resist the corresponding damage type.
- Skill bounces distribute damage across targets (70% ATK per hit) rather than concentrating it. AoE scaling is compensated by the 20% DMG bonus per enemy on field, not raw numbers.
