Overview
AoE specialist whose Talent triggers follow-up spins whenever any ally drops an enemy below 50% HP. Dominant in Pure Fiction and dual Erudition teams with The Herta, but nearly useless against single isolated bosses.
AoE Erudition sub-DPS whose core damage loop revolves around reactive follow-up attacks (Talent). Whenever any ally's attack drops an enemy to 50% HP or below, Herta launches an AoE follow-up spin dealing Ice DMG to all enemies. Multiple enemies crossing the 50% threshold in the same window trigger multiple consecutive spins, each dealing separate instances of damage and Toughness reduction. Pairs best with other AoE or multi-hit characters who can push many enemies below 50% simultaneously.
Key Mechanics
- Talent triggers are per-enemy: each enemy crossing 50% HP generates one spin. With 5 enemies, a single ally attack can trigger up to 5 consecutive AoE spins (200% ATK total per target across all spins). Spins can chain — if spin 1 drops another enemy below 50%, that enemy generates an additional spin.
- Each Talent spin generates 5 Energy independently. With 5 spins, Herta gains 25 Energy from a single Talent proc — nearly a quarter of her 110-cost Ultimate. This makes her Ultimate cycle extremely fast in multi-wave content.
- Each spin deals its own instance of Toughness damage (5 per spin to all enemies). Five spins deal 25 Toughness damage per enemy across the field, contributing meaningfully to Weakness Breaking Ice-weak enemies.
- Completely non-functional against true single-target — Talent triggers once when the lone enemy crosses 50% and cannot retrigger until the enemy is healed above 50%. Herta contributes almost zero follow-up value in single-boss encounters without adds.
- Low base stats (952 HP, 396 DEF, 582 ATK at Lv80) make her one of the frailest characters in the game. Requires a sustain in all serious endgame content.
Best Herta Teams
Dual Erudition
Herta as The Herta's Erudition partner. Two Erudition characters activate The Herta's A4 trace for 50% team DMG. Herta's multi-hit spins generate up to 25 Energy per Talent proc, enabling The Herta to cycle Ultimates every 1-2 rotations and stack her dimensional charges rapidly. FUA chains run in both directions — The Herta's hits trigger Herta's spins, and Herta's spins feed The Herta's energy. Best Herta composition in the current meta.
- S-tier: Herta, The Herta, Tribbie, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae
- S-tier: Herta, The Herta, Tribbie, Aventurine
- A-tier: Herta, The Herta, Sunday, Huohuo
- B-tier: Herta, The Herta, Trailblazer • Remembrance, Gallagher
FUA Chain
Herta paired with other FUA or AoE characters — Himeko, Jade, or Argenti — creating reactive damage chains without path requirements. Himeko's Break-triggered FUAs can set up Herta's Talent, which may Break additional enemies and retrigger Himeko. Pure Fiction specialist composition accessible to any roster.

Herta Investment Priority
- E2 — Free 15% CRIT Rate (3% per Talent trigger, up to 5 stacks) — dramatically eases CRIT Rate building and is easy to maintain in AoE content. The most impactful stopping point for free-to-play.
- E4 — +10% Talent DMG on every FUA trigger. Noticeable in multi-spin scenarios that define Herta's output ceiling. On the way to E6 for those investing further.
- LC S1 — Before Dawn provides CRIT DMG, Skill/Ultimate DMG boost, and Somnus Corpus FUA amplification — the largest single LC upgrade available. Take after reaching E2 for relic economy.
Herta Relics and Stat Targets
Recommended: Hunter of Glacial Forest with Sigonia, the Unclaimed Desolation
Stat targets: CRIT Rate 60%+, CRIT DMG 130-160%+, ATK 2200-2500+, SPD 134 / 143 / 160
Main stats: Body: CRIT Rate > CRIT DMG · Feet: ATK% > SPD · Sphere: Ice DMG > ATK% · Rope: ATK%
Best Herta Light Cones
- Before Dawn (Best in Slot): Best-in-slot for all content. CRIT DMG (60% at S1), Skill and Ultimate DMG (+30%), and Somnus Corpus: after using Skill or Ultimate, the next FUA deals +80% DMG. Directly amplifies all three of Herta's damage sources with a rare multiplicative bonus on her most frequent hit type.
- Night on the Milky Way: Strong option specifically in Pure Fiction. ATK scales with enemy count (up to 75% ATK at 5 enemies) and a 50% DMG window activates on Weakness Break. Requires multi-enemy content to reach full value — underperforms in MoC and Apocalyptic Shadow versus Before Dawn.
- Yet Hope Is Priceless: CRIT Rate (28% at S1) and FUA DMG scaling with CRIT DMG (up to 80% FUA bonus at high CRIT DMG). DEF ignore (36% at S1) on FUAs after a Basic ATK activates DEF reduction for two turns. Synergizes with Hunter of Glacial Forest and Sigonia — optimal when pairing those relic sets.
- A Dream Scented in Wheat: Best 4-star option. CRIT Rate and direct FUA DMG boost align perfectly with Herta's kit. At S5 the FUA DMG bonus becomes substantial. First choice when no 5-star Erudition LC is available.

Important Notes
- Nearly useless against true single-target — Talent triggers once per enemy crossing 50% HP threshold and cannot retrigger until that enemy is healed back above 50%
- Low base stats (952 HP, 396 DEF, 582 ATK) make her very fragile — needs a sustain in all serious endgame content
- Performance is extremely mode-dependent: excellent in Pure Fiction, moderate in MoC with adds, poor in AS single-boss phases
- Very late bloomer — output feels underwhelming without proper relic investment (60%+ CRIT Rate, 130%+ CRIT DMG minimum)
- Free eidolons from Simulated Universe worlds mean E6 is accessible without gacha, but relic quality still determines actual damage
