Guide
Overview
ATK-scaling Quantum Elation carry who banks Fervor from ally actions, then spends the whole bank on a bounce-heavy enhanced Elation Skill. Converts SPD above 140 into Elation damage, but generic DMG% buffs do nothing for the damage that carries him.
ATK-scaling Quantum Elation damage dealer built around two resources. Punchline is shared with the team and drives Aha Instants; Fervor is personal, caps at 30, and accumulates from his own Skill and Ultimate plus every ally action. At 10 Fervor he automatically fires his Elation Skill and upgrades the next one used in an Aha Instant into an enhanced version that spends the entire Fervor bank, adding one extra bounce instance per point consumed. His damage is Elation damage, which reads the Elation stat and ignores generic DMG% bonuses entirely.
Key Mechanics
- Elation DMG does not read generic DMG% bonuses. Buffs expressed as DMG% — including follow-up DMG bonuses — add nothing to the Elation Skill portion that carries most of his damage. CRIT, Elation, DEF shred/ignore, and RES PEN all still apply.
- At A6 he banks 3 Fervor per ally action: 1 from the Talent and 2 from the A6 trace. The A6 portion is capped at 6 triggers and the count resets when he uses his Skill, so the trace pays out most in teams that act frequently between his Skill turns.
- The A4 branches are mutually exclusive and locked at the start of battle. Adding a second Elation character trades the Follow-Up ATK tag on his Elation Skill for a 20% team Elation buff plus 80% for himself — so follow-up shells want him as the sole Elation character, and Elation shells give up the tag.
- SPD is a damage stat through A2, in a band rather than at a single breakpoint: 140 SPD grants 30% Elation and each further point adds 1%, up to 340 SPD. His 107 base SPD, the Ultimate's 30% for 4 turns, and the signature's 24% clear the floor comfortably.
- Fervor is spent, not held. The enhanced Elation Skill consumes the entire bank and converts each point into one extra 21% bounce instance, so its damage scales directly with how full the bank is when an Aha Instant arrives.
- elation
- Punchline, Fervor, and the Aha Instant
- He runs two parallel resources. Punchline is a shared team resource that builds toward Aha Instants, and Fervor is a personal bank that determines how hard his Elation Skill hits when an Aha Instant arrives. Certified Banger is a separate stacking state that adds Elation DMG riders to his Skill and Ultimate while it is held.
- Punchline sources: 4 from his Skill, 6 from his Ultimate, and 1 per ally attack from his Talent. The A4 sole-Elation branch adds another 1 per ally attack.
- Fervor sources: 4 from his Skill, 8 from his Ultimate, 2 from his Technique, 1 per ally attack from his Talent, and 2 per ally action from the A6 trace. The cap is 30 at E0 and 50 at E2.
- Cheers! To Summer's Blaze (base Elation Skill): 60% Quantum Elation DMG to all enemies, plus 10 instances of 18% Quantum Elation DMG to random enemies. 240% total.
- All In! To Summer's Blaze (enhanced): the same 60% AoE and 10 instances of 18%, then consumes all Fervor and adds 1 instance of 21% Quantum Elation DMG to a random enemy per point consumed. 870% total at the 30-Fervor E0 cap; 660% at 20 Fervor.
- The enhancement is granted by the Talent: the first time Fervor reaches 10 he fires the base Elation Skill automatically, calculated with a fixed 20 Punchline, and that use upgrades his next Aha Instant Elation Skill.
- Certified Banger: gained 20 at a time from his Technique and 2 per ally attack on the A4 sole-Elation branch. While held, his Skill deals an extra 40% and his Ultimate an extra 72% Quantum Elation DMG to all enemies. The Talent extends its duration by 1 turn, and multiple instances coexist with independent durations.
- Bounce instances pick random targets, so against a single enemy every instance concentrates on it — which is why creators rate him highest in single-target and low-AoE encounters.
Aventurine • Waveflair FAQ
Who works best with Aventurine • Waveflair in HSR?
Aventurine • Waveflair's best team options include Yao Guang, Trailblazer • Elation, Huohuo. StarGuide rates teammates by role and composition fit so the recommendation reflects how the character is actually played.
What relics should Aventurine • Waveflair use?
Aventurine • Waveflair's recommended relic setup is Ever-Glorious Magical Girl with Punklorde: Stage Zero, with stat targets around SPD 160-170, higher is better, CRIT Rate 100% in combat (82% on the sheet with Diviner four-piece), CRIT DMG 130%+, no ceiling.
What is the best light cone for Aventurine • Waveflair?
Summer Rides the Surf is the top listed light cone for Aventurine • Waveflair. Signature. 18% CRIT Rate unconditionally, 24% SPD after any Elation Skill, and 40% Elation whenever the Elation Skill used differs from the last one — both conditions hold trivially because his base and enhanced Elation Skills alternate. Also recovers 1 Skill Point at the start of every wave and after every 3 Elation Skills, which offsets his SP negativity. Measured at roughly 20% personal damage over the best four-star option.
How should I invest in Aventurine • Waveflair?
Aventurine • Waveflair's first listed investment priority is E1. The first and most-recommended stop. Turns the Fervor bank from a single 10-point payout into a repeating one, and its 24% All-Type RES PEN applies undiluted to every Elation instance. Placed ahead of the signature light cone by five of the six analyses on file.
Important Notes
- Elation DMG does not read generic DMG% bonuses, so a large part of what most amplifiers provide is wasted on him. Follow-up DMG bonuses are the specific trap: the A4 sole-Elation branch tags his Elation Skill as a Follow-Up ATK, which lets follow-up CRIT DMG traces land on it, but a teammate whose contribution is expressed as follow-up DMG% still adds nothing to it. Draft for CRIT, Elation, DEF shred or ignore, and RES PEN instead.
- His A4 branch is fixed at the start of battle by who else is on the team. Adding a second Elation character trades the Follow-Up ATK tag and the per-ally-attack Certified Banger income for a 20% team / 80% self Elation buff. Both branches are playable, but they are different characters — do not assemble an Elation shell expecting the follow-up behaviour, or a follow-up shell expecting the team Elation buff.
- He wants team SPD, not just his own. A2 converts every point of SPD above 140 into 1% Elation up to 340, so SPD buffs and action advance that would be pure tempo on another carry are damage here, and a sustain or amplifier that raises team SPD is worth more to him than the same unit is to most carries.
- He is SP negative on a Skill-led rotation, and his A6 trace pushes him toward more Skills rather than fewer, because the 6-trigger counter that pays 2 Fervor per ally action only resets when he uses his Skill. Pair him with SP-positive teammates, or accept Basic ATK turns that cost him the re-arm.
- His damage wants ally actions between Aha Instants, not more Aha Instants. The Fervor bank fills from teammate actions and the enhanced Elation Skill spends all of it at once, so a team that produces Aha Instants faster than it produces attacks empties a partly filled bank instead of a full one. At E0 the enhancement arrives once per bank cycle, which makes this sharper before E1.
- His slot in the Ashveil follow-up core is weakness-dependent rather than fixed. He is the definitive occupant against Quantum-weak enemies and in mostly single-target encounters, because his bounce instances pick random targets and concentrate on a lone enemy; Robin • Summeretto or Tribbie gain ground when the encounter favours the core's Lightning and Fire damage and does not favour Quantum.
- The Fervor bank
- Everything he and his team do feeds one number. Fervor accumulates from his own Skill and Ultimate, from his Technique, and from every action his teammates take — and then the enhanced Elation Skill spends the entire bank at once, converting each point into one extra bounce.\n\nThe bank has one gate. The first time Fervor reaches 10 he fires **Cheers! To Summer's Blaze** on his own, and it is that automatic use which upgrades his *next* Aha Instant Elation Skill into **All In!**. Reaching 10 does not spend anything, so the bank keeps filling from there.\n\nThat makes how full the bank is when the Aha Instant lands the largest single variable in his damage: **870%** at the E0 cap of 30 Fervor, **660%** at 20. Ally actions taken between the 10-Fervor trigger and the Aha Instant are worth more than the same actions taken anywhere else in the rotation.
- The Skill re-arms his Fervor engine
- His A6 trace pays **2 Fervor per ally action** on top of the Talent's 1 — but only for **6 triggers**, and the count resets when he uses his **Skill**.\n\nSo the bank fills at 3 Fervor per ally action while the counter has room and at 1 once it is spent. Three teammates burn the six triggers in two rounds of actions; in a follow-up team, where every follow-up counts as a trigger, considerably faster.\n\n- Press it late rather than early. Skilling before the counter is spent throws away the unused triggers.\n- Don't skip it to save SP without pricing the re-arm. A Skill that does nothing else is still 4 Fervor, 4 Punchline, and the 2-per-action rate coming back.\n- The reset is on **his Skill specifically** — not the Ultimate, and not either Elation Skill.
- Know which A4 branch you locked in
- A4 is checked once, at the start of battle, and the branch you get changes what you have to maintain.\n\n**He is the only Elation character.** His Elation Skill counts as a Follow-Up ATK, and every ally attack hands him 2 Certified Banger and 1 Punchline. Certified Banger refills itself, so the 40% rider on his Skill and the 72% rider on his Ultimate stay live all fight and you never have to think about them.\n\n**Another Elation character is on the team.** He gains 80% Elation and the team gains 20%, but the Certified Banger income stops. The only remaining source is the 20 stacks from his Technique, stretched by the Talent's +1 turn of duration. Those carry the opening and then run out, and the Skill and Ultimate riders go with them — treat the riders as an opening resource here, not a baseline.\n\nNothing about this changes which buttons exist. The point is knowing which of the two you are playing before the first turn, because you cannot change it afterwards.
- Tips & gotchas
- - His bounce instances pick **random** targets. Against a single enemy every instance lands on it; against five they scatter. Both Elation Skills are at their best in single-target and low-count encounters.\n- Open with the Technique into the enemy every fight — 2 Fervor and 20 Certified Banger. Technique Points are not consumed if it connects with nothing, so a misjudged approach costs you nothing.\n- Nothing in his kit rewards holding the Ultimate: no target to pick, no window to hit, no buff to place. It pays 8 Fervor, 6 Punchline and 30% SPD for four turns, and that SPD is itself damage through A2.\n- On an SP-starved turn, the Basic ATK is not dead time: it refunds 1 SP and 20 Energy while ally actions keep banking Fervor without him.\n- SPD keeps paying well past the 140 gate — every point above it is another 1% Elation, to a ceiling of 340. See Relics.\n- Generic DMG% buffs, including follow-up DMG bonuses, do nothing for his Elation damage. See Restrictions.

Aventurine • Waveflair Investment Priority
- E1 — The first and most-recommended stop. Turns the Fervor bank from a single 10-point payout into a repeating one, and its 24% All-Type RES PEN applies undiluted to every Elation instance. Placed ahead of the signature light cone by five of the six analyses on file.
- E2 — Where his value peaks. The 50-point cap, the extra triggers at 40 and 50, and the 4-Fervor refund per Elation Skill compound with E1, and this is the point his vertical scaling pulls ahead in the shells he shares with premium supports. Also placed ahead of the signature.
- LC S1 — Take the signature after both eidolons. Its 18% CRIT Rate, 24% SPD and 40% Elation are a strong package, but the measured gain over the best four-star option is smaller than what either eidolon adds on its own.

Best Aventurine • Waveflair Light Cones
- Summer Rides the Surf (Best in Slot): Signature.
- A Little Getaway: Best non-signature option. 20% Elation unconditionally plus 8% DEF ignore whenever he uses an Elation Skill — 40% and 16% at S5. The DEF ignore applies specifically to the Elation Skill, which is where essentially all of his damage sits, and it adds on top of the shred his teams already bring. Obtainable from Robin • Summeretto's banner, so S5 is realistic if you are pulling there.
- Welcome to the Cosmic City: Borrowed five-star. Its 18% SPD feeds his Elation conversion directly rather than only improving turn order, and its 20% DEF ignore on Elation DMG is a higher flat value than any four-star carries. The third clause needs a self-targeted Ultimate and never fires for him, so you are paying for two of three effects — which is why it sits below a four-star here.
- Today's Good Luck: Four-star with a clean stat line — 12% CRIT Rate plus 12% Elation per Elation Skill, stacking twice for 24%, and both halves are stats he converts. The stacks hold easily because his Talent fires an Elation Skill automatically at 10 Fervor. It sits below the DEF-ignore cones only because it adds nothing to the ignore total his teams are built around.
Teams
Best Aventurine • Waveflair Teams
Mono Elation
Aventurine • Waveflair as the lone carry in an Elation shell. A second Elation character on the team puts his A4 on the 20% team / 80% self branch, which trades away the Follow-Up ATK tag that his best teams are built on — so this route is deliberately ranked below the follow-up shell authored on Ashveil, where that tag lets Ashveil's full 120% follow-up CRIT DMG land on the Elation Skill. Field this when Ashveil is unowned or committed to another side.
